Apple Vision Pro: What We Know So Far

Apple Vision Pro What We Know So Far

At WWDC 2023, Apple launched a virtual reality headset product - Apple Vision Pro. This device is billed by Apple as its first spatial computing device and is expected to become the next revolutionary Apple device.

Apple Vision Pro: What It Is?

Vision Pro is a head-mounted display released by Apple, which Apple claims will provide users with a unique mixed reality experience. This experience combines virtual reality and augmented reality technology to seamlessly interface with popular apps and services such as FaceTime and Disney+.

Apple Vision Pro What It Is

  • Performance

Apple has designed a unique dual-chip design for the Vision Pro, and the main chip is the familiar M2, which is responsible for Vision algorithms and image information processing, giving the Vision Pro a smoother experience. At the same time, in order to process information from 12 cameras, 5 sensors and 6 microphones, Apple also brought a new R1 chip, which allows images to be synchronized to the Vision Pro's screen within 12 milliseconds, with almost no delay, as if everything were happening in front of you. To keep the hardware cool, the headset is also equipped with an internal cooling system, which achieves effective cooling through air intake from the bottom.

  • Screen

This is the biggest difference between Apple Vision Pro and other headsets. When you wear it to communicate with other people, your eyes will not be blocked by Vision Pro. Through the face-tracking camera and eye-tracking camera inside the device, Vision Pro can accurately capture changes in facial expressions and display them on an external screen. Your friends will also be able to judge your status based on what's displayed on the screen.

  • Audio

To make the experience even more immersive, Vision Pro is equipped with a state-of-the-art spatial audio system, with a set of dual drivers on each side of the ear, allowing sound to emanate from all directions. Apple Vision Pro also analyzes the acoustic properties of your room (such as physical materials) to match the audio effects that are appropriate for your room.

  • Optics

The Apple Vision Pro features a customized micro OLED screen with a monocular resolution that exceeds that of a 4K TV, and a customized three-lens structure that makes the Vision Pro clear enough at any angle. At the same time, the Vision Pro offers a very wide range of vision correction for near-sighted users.

  • Battery

Vision Pro does not have a built-in battery, but a magnetically attached external battery that can last about 2 hours. If you have the need to use for a long time, you can also use an external power supply, but this will reduce the mobility.

Apple Vision Pro Price: $3,499

The Apple Vision Pro comes with a hefty price tag, which has been set at $3,499 in the US market. One of the most expensive components is the two 1.3-inch OLEDoS (silicon-based OLED) internal screens supplied by SONY, which cost $700 in materials, so it's no wonder that Apple Vision Pro is priced expensively.

Apple Vision Pro Launch Date: Possibly January 27

Since the Vision Pro was unveiled at the press conference, it has become one of the most anticipated Apple products in 2024. The official has not given a detailed release date before, but Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman recently revealed that the Vision Pro is expected to be available in the U.S. on January 27, 2024 first.

Apple says that Vision Pro can change the scenarios of communication, writing, work, entertainment and so on, and in Apple's demo, it does describe a very bright future for us. The Apple Vision Pro will be available in 2024, will you buy it?
