How Will Apple Pay Work on Apple Watch?
The Apple Watch allows you to do a lot of things without taking out your phone, especially when it comes to making payments, and it works like pocket magic.
You can add multiple credit or debit cards for Apple Pay purchases, and change your default card on the Watch app. To use Apple Pay, simply press the side button twice and hold your Apple Watch near a contactless reader until you feel a soft tap.
Here Are the Steps:
- Open the Watch app for iPhone. Go to the My Watch tab.
- Tap "Wallet & Apple Pay".
- Tap Add Card, then continue. - For cards that have already been added to your iPhone, you'll be prompted to enter the card's security code to add it to your Apple Watch. For completely new cards, you can enter the information by positioning your card inside a square on the screen and taking a picture, or by manually entering your card information (name, card number, expiration date, security code).
- After entering your card information, you'll be brought to a Terms and Conditions page. Review this page, then tap Agree to continue the setup process. - As your card is set up for Apple Pay, "Your bank or card issuer will verify your information and decide if you can use your card with Apple Pay, "according to Apple." If your bank or issuer needs more information to verify your card, they'll ask you for it."
- Once you've successfully added a card to your Watch, you'll see a confirmation screen and the card will appear under "Payment Cards On Your Watch."
Is It Safe to Use Apple Pay with Apple Watch?
Compared with other payment systems, Apple Pay is a very secure way to make payments. This is because your card numbers are not stored on your device, and are never shared by Apple Pay, or sent with your payment. Instead, Apple Pay gives you a unique Device Account Number, that's encrypted and stored in a secure part of your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch. So, when you use Apple Pay, your Device Account Number and a specially created security code are used to process your payment.
Just make sure you keep your card protected by:
- Choosing a device passcode that no one else knows or could guess easily.
- Storing your fingerprint within Apply Pay - don't store the fingerprint of anyone else.
